Después de un largo periodo de espera por fin está disponible la actualización del SpectraView Profiler compatible con Colormunki. Hace unos días se actualizó la versión para Mac y hoy ya está disponible la versión para Windows.
En breve tendremos disponibles packs con los monitores de la serie SpectraView junto con un Colormunki Photo, la mejora en la calibración utilizando el Colormuki es notable.

Tras calibrar dos veces* un SpectraView nos da una media de 0,14 y un máximo de 0,25.

* para mejorar la calidad de la calibración el truco está en calibrar el monitor una vez está estable, con un par de horas de encendido y a posterior realizar una calibración tras otra. Si en la primera la media era de 0,31 en la segunda calibración obtenemos un resultado aun mejor.

Desde siempre la calibración del monitor mediante un espectrofotómetro ha sido la mejor opción (Eye One PRO) per su elevado coste hacía que las calibraciones se realicen casi como un standard mediante el Eye One Display 2. El Colormunki es un término medio (de precio) entre un espectrofotómetro y un colorímetro.

Como espectrofotómetro nos permitirá además realizar mediciones de color y calibraciones de impresora (hasta una Epson 4800).

La última actualización 4.1.22 del software Spectraview ya soporta el Xrite Colormunki, aunque por el momento solo en Mac. Es probable que en la actualización de PC de la versión 21 a la 22 tambien pueda soportar el Colormunki.

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTICE:
Apple Macs with an Nividia graphics card or chipset and Mac OS 10.5.6 or higher may
give a “No communications” error in SpectraView Profiler on some early production
(before mid-2007) models of 90 series displays, including the SpectraView 2690 and
SpectraView 2490. Please contact NEC Technical Support directly for assistance.

Mac OS 10.5.6 prevents SpectraView Profiler from being able to communicate with the
display monitor on PPC based Macs. Customers should update to Mac OS 10.5.7 or higher
to avoid this issue.

The 13-inch MacBook, and 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pros with Mini DisplayPort video
outputs released by Apple in October 2008 and January 2009 require Mac OS 10.5.7 in
order to work with SpectraView Profiler using the DisplayPort to SingleLink DVI adapter
from Apple. SpectraView Profiler will not be able to calibrate NEC monitors when using
Mac OS 10.5.6 and earlier on these machines.

The Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter is necessary to provide full
resolution support for the SpectraView Reference 3090 (2560×1600 pixels) on newer
Macs with DisplayPort video outputs. Support for communicating with the display
monitor when using this adapter was added by Apple in Mac OS 10.5.8 and Mac OS 10.6.
However issues with the implementation have meant that the only way of
communicating using the device is to include an option in the SpectraView Profiler
software specifically to provide a workaround for these issues. SpectraView Profiler
v4.1.17 added a checkbox in the preferences to support the Apple Mini DisplayPort to
Dual-Link DVI Adapter on Mac OS 10.5.8 or Mac OS 10.6. Please restart the application
when this checkbox has been enabled!!!
